I am a freelance writer, public speaker and sometime stand up comedian/MC looking for interesting projects. I am fast, full of ideas and unbelievably efficient. I live partly in both the UK and the Algarve, Portugal, working both remotely and in person. Let’s do stuff.

I have experience as a travel and lifestyle writer, currently writing regular columns for magazines such as Standard Issue, Mediterranean Gardening and Outdoor Living, Algarve Experts and Network Autism. I am former Brighton and UK Editor for wcities.com travel destination content provider and was Restaurant Reviewer and Columnist for The Insight arts magazine. I can write seriously and with humour; informatively and personally. I have written a Vegetarian Cookbook and am currently working on a book about moving and living overseas. My blog Bicycles and Biscuits charts my life in Portugal. My writing portfolio gives more detail of my recent work.

My public speaking and comedy style is fast paced, funny and described as ‘inspirational’. I started speaking full sentences at 9 months of age and have a bit of a knack for it. I have delivered over 1000 presentations. Please see the public speaking and comedy/MC clips section of my Portfolio for examples. I am a proficient MC and compere with an excellent ability to keep an event running to time. I have also worked as a Cruise Destination Presenter for Fred Olsen.

My main passions are food, travel and simple living. I have cycled from the UK to Spain twice – once was a solo trip about which I wrote and performed a full run Edinburgh Fringe Comedy show. I am interested in food growing, permaculture and all things outdoors.

For the past 10 years I have developed an international reputation as an autism specialist, writing 6 books and delivering over 1000 training and conference sessions.
